Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect on Mistri Saab, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

1. Introduction

Mistri Saab ("we", "us", or "our") operates an online marketplace that connects clients who need construction, repair, and related services with independent traders ("mistris", contractors, and specialists) across India.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal information when you visit our website, create an account, post jobs, submit bids, message other users, or otherwise use our services (collectively, the "Platform").

By using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • Visitors browsing our public pages
  • Registered clients and traders

3.3 Information from others

Other users may provide information about you when they post jobs, submit bids, send messages, leave reviews, file disputes, or report content. We process that information to operate the Platform.

4. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Connect clients with traders (listing jobs, bids, profiles, and messaging)
  • Send service-related emails and in-app notifications
  • Verify traders, display ratings and reviews, and enforce platform rules (including suspension where appropriate)
  • Respond to support requests and disputes
  • Improve, secure, and debug the Platform
  • Analyze usage through analytics tools to understand performance and user needs
  • Comply with applicable law and protect our legal rights

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

6. Sharing and disclosure

We may share information in these situations:

  • With other users: job details, bids, profiles, reviews, and messages are visible as needed to facilitate connections (for example, after a client selects a trader, messaging is enabled for that job)
  • Service providers: companies that host our infrastructure and help us operate the Platform, including:
    • Google Firebase (authentication, database, file storage)
    • Email delivery (SMTP) for transactional messages
    • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager for website analytics
    • AI providers (e.g. via OpenRouter) when you use the assistant
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect users, the public, or our rights
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards

We require service providers to handle data only for authorized purposes and in line with contractual and legal obligations.

7. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences, keep you signed in, measure traffic, and understand how the Platform is used.

7.1 Types of cookies

  • Essential: required for login, security, and core functionality
  • Analytics: help us understand visits and interactions (e.g. Google Analytics)
  • Tag management: we use Google Tag Manager to manage measurement tags on our site

7.2 Your choices

You can control cookies through your browser settings (block, delete, or limit cookies). Blocking essential cookies may affect how the Platform works. You can also install browser extensions or use device settings offered by Google to limit analytics collection.

For more about how Google uses data, see Google's Privacy Policy.

8. AI assistant

We offer an optional AI chat assistant on the Platform. When you send a message to the assistant, your message and recent conversation context may be transmitted to our AI service provider to generate a reply.

Do not share sensitive personal information (such as passwords, full payment card numbers, or government ID numbers) in the assistant. Assistant responses are for general guidance about the Platform and may not always be accurate.

9. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform, resolve disputes, enforce our terms, and comply with legal obligations.

When you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal, security, or backup purposes.

10. Security

We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the data we hold, including access controls, encryption in transit where supported by our providers, and monitoring for abuse.
